Challenge: a luxury refit without compromise
In collaboration with Yacht Pro Solution and lead contractor Krištof Amon, the demanding refit project of the sailing yacht Irene was successfully completed.
Krištof Amon designed a 5-axis CNC machining process for the production of MDF molds, which then served as the basis for creating the fiberglass superstructure using polyester technology.
A key step in this process was the precise 3D measurement of the entire hull, carried out with the Flexijet 3D system. Thanks to millimeter-accurate laser scanning, the curved surfaces of the hull were predefined, ensuring that the new superstructure seamlessly extended the yacht’s original form — with no deviations whatsoever.
Special attention was given to the convex surface of the transom, whose complex geometry demanded the highest level of precision. Based on the digital model developed in Rhino software, an exact CNC program was generated, eliminating potential execution errors and achieving complete alignment of all elements.

In projects like this, the sailing yacht Irene had already attracted attention with her classic lines and maritime elegance, but this refit further refined her silhouette. Beyond the technical aspect, the story takes on special significance thanks to the fact that Irene was chosen for the filming of the Hollywood movie Afterburn, starring Samuel L. Jackson, Dave Bautista, and Olga Kurylenko.
As reported by Slovenian media (24ur, Regional Obala, Slovenske Novice, Primorske Novice, Nova TV), Irene was hailed as the “Izola beauty” that won over the film producers with her authentic charm. The movie was shot in Bratislava, and for the yacht’s scenes, the team from Izola had to adapt the construction and even modify the mast height — further underscoring the complexity of the undertaking and the importance of precise planning.
