Short project overview
The reconstruction of the Pical Hotel in Poreč included several phases of interior modernisation, among them the production of a new bar made from sintered quartz. Such elements require exceptional measurement precision, especially when they contain curved surfaces and radii that must be defined without deviation.
At the request of Lateramen d.o.o., the company responsible for producing the quartz bar, a detailed 3D measurement was carried out using the Flexijet system, followed by the preparation of technical documentation required for accurate and safe production.
Project challenges
Our partner, Lateramen d.o.o., was responsible for producing the bar, which included multiple curved surfaces. For accurate CNC cutting, it was essential to:
- obtain absolutely precise radii,
- document the real conditions on-site,
- prepare technically correct drawings that could be used without further adjustments.
Sintered quartz does not tolerate errors – even a few millimetres of deviation can result in costly recuts and delays in execution.
Traditional manual measurement methods could not provide the required level of precision, which is why the Flexijet 3D system was chosen. As the regional representative of this technology, Studio Element d.o.o. conducted the full 3D measurement and documentation process.
Solution: Flexijet 3D measurement and technical CAD preparation
The interior design studio La Foja Interior Design carried out the on-site measurement of the bar using the Flexijet 3D system, providing Lateramen d.o.o. with ultra-precise data on all radii and the geometry of the space.
In this project, Flexijet enabled:
- precise definition of all radii,
- accurate measurement data without deviation,
- complete certainty during CNC cutting,
- a reliable basis for technical preparation and error-free installation.
Based on these measurements, Studio Element d.o.o. prepared:
- the CAD drafting base for the bar,
- measurement documentation and groundwork required for production preparation,
- technical specifications that ensure safe manufacturing and installation without corrections.

Each company had a clearly defined role, and Studio Element d.o.o. was responsible for preparing the technical documentation based on the measured parameters.
Results and delivered value
1. High measurement accuracy
The drawings fully correspond to the actual measured conditions, including all radii and curved surfaces.
2. Elimination of fabrication errors
Lateramen was able to begin CNC preparation with complete confidence in the measurement documentation, enabling error-free production and installation.
3. Savings in material and time
The precise 3D measurements significantly reduced the risk of re-cutting, which is especially important when working with sintered quartz.
4. Improved coordination between all project partners
Each company worked with clearly defined parameters, ensuring a smooth and efficient project workflow.
This project demonstrates how the collaboration of three specialised teams, combined with advanced measurement technology, results in precise, safe and high-quality execution.
As the regional representative of the Flexijet 3D system and the technical partner responsible for preparing the measurement drawings and CAD documentation, Studio Element enabled Lateramen d.o.o. to fabricate and install a bar with complex radii without deviations and with a high level of production confidence.
The combination of precise 3D measurement, accurate technical documentation, and effective cooperation between all contractors proved essential for the successful fabrication of the sintered quartz element.
