Introduction to the project
In luxury interiors, every millimeter carries weight, and every detail serves a purpose. This is especially true when working with materials like natural stone – elegant and durable, yet technically demanding and sensitive to the slightest error. Such was the case with a kitchen in a private residence in Zagreb’s Sv. Duh district, where the client had a clear vision: stone countertops and wall cladding that would fit the space perfectly, with no compromises and no room for improvisation.
In a world where every mistake can cost thousands of euros, traditional manual measurement was not an option. Instead, the solution was a technology that meets the exacting demands of luxury materials – absolute precision. Challenges
The client commissioned the fabrication of natural stone surfaces for a kitchen island countertop, a sink area countertop, and wall cladding with openings for two electrical outlets. Given the high value of the materials, which allow no room for error, achieving the highest level of measurement accuracy before fabrication was essential.
Solutions
To eliminate the risk of fabrication errors, the Flexijet 3D digital measuring device was used. A detailed 3D measurement was performed on the already installed kitchen elements, including:
- Exact dimensions of the kitchen island and its edges,
- The position of the sink unit in relation to the wall,
- Heights and depths for stone processing,
- The exact locations of the two electrical outlets that needed to be cut into the wall cladding.
The measurement data was imported into CAD software and prepared for processing on CNC machines. This enabled:
- Fabrication of the stone surfaces with absolute precision,
- Accurate cutting of openings for the outlets with no need for manual corrections,
- Perfect alignment and fit of all elements on the first installation attempt.

Thanks to the precise 3D measurement of the kitchen using the Flexijet device, all additional costs that would typically arise from fabrication or installation errors of the stone countertop and wall cladding were completely avoided. This prevented unnecessary expenses for extra materials, post-installation corrections, additional labor hours, or multiple transport arrangements.
Faster processing, faster installation
Accurate and detailed data enabled CNC stone processing without the need for on-site verification. This significantly accelerated the entire workflow – from material processing to final installation – and allowed the project to be completed within a shorter timeframe.
Perfectly fitting elements
The stone components – the island countertop, the sink area surface, and the wall cladding with outlet openings – were manufactured with millimeter-level precision, fully tailored to the existing kitchen elements. As a result, the installation was fast and flawless, with no need for additional on-site adjustments.
Reliability from draft to finished product
CAD drawings generated directly from Flexijet 3D software enabled stone processing with a high degree of reliability. This virtually eliminated the risk of human error during production – a critical factor when working with high-value materials such as natural stone.
Conclusion
Thanks to the use of the Flexijet 3D system, the elements were manufactured with millimeter precision and installed without any additional on-site adjustments. The result is a kitchen that is both aesthetically and functionally flawless, featuring a luxurious stone countertop that fits seamlessly into the existing space.
This project once again confirms that when working with valuable materials and tight tolerances, precise 3D measurement is not an option – it’s a necessity.
