A new level of service in the travel industry
At the Zagreb bus terminal, the Croatia Bus sales office has undergone a complete transformation to become the first FlixBus Lounge for bus passengers in Europe. This marks a new standard in the travel experience and service quality at bus terminals.
In partnership with Croatia Bus, FlixBus has opened a multifunctional space that combines ticket sales, a waiting area, and an exclusive lounge corner for passengers—creating a modern, functional, and comfortable environment for all FlixBus travelers. The design and full execution of the project were carried out by the Interijerka studio, known for its distinctive interiors that balance high functional and design demands.
The 170-square-meter space required a thorough renovation, with the key challenge being to carry out construction work while the office remained almost continuously operational and serving passengers. The project included layout modifications, clear separation of the lounge area from the sales zone, removal of the old and construction of a new ticket counter, infrastructure upgrades, and precise integration of all functional zones within the limited available space.
Flexijet 3D – technology that enables control over every detail
From the very beginning, it was clear that a project of this kind demanded maximum precision. That’s why the Flexijet 3D laser measurement system was brought into the process—as a reliable and intelligent solution during the project preparation phase.
The laser measurements provided a high-quality foundation for the execution project by Interijerka studio, and the process included:
- digitalizing the space with millimeter-level accuracy, eliminating the need for manual sketches
- precise measurement of the interior, including heating and cooling devices as well as their visible installations
This approach saved time, eliminated the possibility of errors, and made both the design and execution phases significantly simpler and more efficient—without the need for on-site adjustments or improvisation.
Lounge area: comfort and functionality in every detail
A total of 58 square meters was allocated for the lounge area, which was thoughtfully organized into several functional zones:
- two seating zones — one with sofas and power outlets for charging devices and working on a laptop, the other with lounge chairs
- a snack and beverage zone
- a luggage storage area with a custom metal frame
- a baby changing and refreshing corner located near the restroom entrance
All FlixBus Lounge users have access to free Wi-Fi, and the project was supported by Jamnica, Violeta, and Polleo Sport, who enabled free or discounted use of their products as part of the lounge offering.

The FlixBus Lounge project demonstrated how precise planning and a reliable foundation—made possible by laser measurement—can be crucial for the successful execution of complex spaces. Thanks to this approach, potential challenges can be identified in advance, mistakes avoided, and implementation carried out to meet the high standards of modern passenger facilities.
